Introducing...

Most people find their favorite knick-knacks at boutique stores and online merchandisers...but how do those products get into those stores?! Simply stated, I want to be selling my stuff there. I have been told time and time again that I need to be selling my creations - I honestly have a hard time believing that someone would actually want to buy something that I've made - but hey, if its cash in the pocket then, sign me up!

But seriously, where do I start?? My craft room today is an unorganized MESS!! I have found that my passion of creating has taken a backseat lately to my paid job and my responsibilities as mother and wife.

I yearn for those days of sitting at my sewing machine making a purse only because I can...and designing a bracelet merely because my bead collection caught my eye as I walked in the room...or walking into the kitchen, hit in the face with warmth from the oven and smells of fresh baked biscotti circling the air. I've not even mentioned the gazillion (I'm sure that is the number I'm up to) of ideas that have come crashing through my brain in the middle of the afternoon that I haven't even tried to attempt to make - but am sure that if I were given the chance, not only could I make them - but the end product would be so much better than the original idea.

All I need is time...and of course money. Because if I had the money, then the daytime job wouldn't be necessary and I could work on my dream. So many people ask, "what do you do for a living" - well right now, I have a job - its not a career - and its definitely not going to be forever (don't tell my boss that) - but what I want to do, is follow my passion - being Creative. I can see where this probably won't pay the bills -but at what point in our lives do we say, its ok to be passionate about something and be happy about it.

I can actually think of many things that I would be happy being paid to do - selling my creations would obviously be on the top of the list. But I would be happy to write for a living - but no one wants to hire someone with a degree in Criminology to write for their company - clearly there is no professional experience that I have that would relate to writing...but I can write and what I do write even makes sense - sometimes its even clever. Did you know that I can cook too?!?! I mean seriously cook...but who wants to hire someone without culinary experience and really do I want the hours of a chef or sous chef?!?! But someone has to eat lunch, right?? And even within the cooking realm, I bake...yummy, yummy treats might I add. Sounds like I would be the dream employee of say a shop called...Parsley & Plaid - make my own hours, cook when I want, what I want - design and make creations - and then write about all of it...but wait - there is no regular paycheck for this gig...if only...well this blog is going to have satisify me for now - enjoy...
